GEORGE ITZHAK HEADSHOT 3.jpg

Hey! I’m George, an NYC-based editor, producer, and director.

I’m a creative visual storyteller and filmmaker with 7 years of experience producing documentaries and TV features for both national and niche audiences. I oversee video projects from initial concept to publication or broadcast, often taking on multiple roles including producer, director, cinematographer, and editor. My goal is to craft engaging character- driven narratives that take viewers on a journey, because that’s what great storytelling can accomplish. My work with NBC News has been nominated for Emmy and Webby Awards. I am incessantly curious about the world, discovering new stories, and telling them in innovative and cinematic ways.

I recently directed and edited a short documentary about Uzbekistan’s first electronic music rave and the cultural changes the country is going through now. The film, Waiting for the Sea is starting its festival run now, with screenings coming up in Prague, Beirut, and Denver. I am now editing a feature documentary called Youth of the North, about punk rock in Yakutsk, Russia. My directorial debut was a Russian-language fiction short film titled Broccoli.
